Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Cadence ("Cadence," "we," "us") governing your use of the Cadence iOS app and any related services (the "Service").

Agreement to these terms
By downloading, installing, or using Cadence, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
Cadence is a race-fitness app: it predicts your finish time for a given race based on your fitness data (power curve and pace, from numbers you enter) and the race's own course profile, and offers planning tools (Season plan, taper guidance, calibration tracking) and race targets (target pace for runs, target power and speed for rides) on top of that. It is not a coaching service, a medical device, or a substitute for professional athletic or medical advice (see "Not medical advice" below).
Cadence works without an account: your races and numbers stay on your device. Predictions and race listings come from our servers, so you need an internet connection. Creating an account is optional and only adds cross-device sync.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use Cadence. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you confirm a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
Creating an account is optional. If you do, you're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away at the contact address below if you suspect unauthorized access. You can sign up with an email and password, or use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, which rely on those providers to confirm who you are rather than a password you set with us.
Subscriptions (Season plan)
Cadence's core features (fit reports and race predictions) are free. Season is an optional, auto-renewing monthly subscription that adds a focus and peak race, race-day targets, season-wide planning with dated taper and recovery windows, your track record, unlimited race tracking, and an uncapped alert quota.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Season renews monthly unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID account settings; Cadence itself has no separate cancellation mechanism, since all billing runs through Apple's In-App Purchase system.
If your subscription lapses or is refunded, your account reverts to the Free plan, and any tracked races beyond the Free plan's limit are handled per the in-app downgrade flow. Accuracy itself is never a paid feature: the prediction model is the same on both plans, so the same inputs give the same confidence tier, limiter, and predicted range.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Cadence for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that violates another person's rights.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the prediction model or source code.
- Scrape, mass-download, or systematically harvest race, course, or other data from the Service.
- Interfere with the Service's normal operation, including attempting to bypass subscription gating or rate limits.
- Upload a GPX file or other content you don't have the right to share, or that's deliberately false or misleading about a real race course.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization.
We may suspend or terminate access for an account that violates these rules.
Not medical advice
Cadence's predictions, race targets (including target pace, power, and speed), feasibility verdicts, readiness scores, and taper guidance are statistical estimates derived from your own fitness data, course information, and general assumptions about conditions such as weather. They are not medical advice, a medical device, or a substitute for guidance from a qualified physician, coach, or physical therapist.
Endurance racing and training carry inherent physical risk, including the risk of injury. Consult a doctor before beginning or changing a training program, especially if you have an existing health condition. Cadence has no way to know your full medical history and cannot account for it. You're solely responsible for deciding whether to participate in any race or follow any plan the app suggests.
Many factors, including weather, terrain, equipment, your health, and how you feel on the day, can make your performance differ from any estimate or target. They are provided for general informational purposes only and are not guaranteed to be accurate. You choose whether and how to use them, and you do so at your own risk.
Third-party services
Cadence integrates with services we don't control, including Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google (identity verification), Apple's In-App Purchase system (billing), and several public race-listing and course-data sources (RunSignup/BikeSignup, RaceRoster, RideWithGPS, OpenTopography, and similar). Your use of any of these is also governed by that provider's own terms, which we don't control and aren't responsible for.
Race and course information drawn from these public sources may be incomplete or out of date. Always verify race details (date, course, cutoffs) directly with the race organizer before relying on them.
Intellectual property
The Cadence app, its design, its prediction model, and its underlying code are owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. These Terms give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose; they don't transfer any ownership to you.
You keep ownership of your own fitness data and any GPX file you upload. By uploading a GPX file for a race with no elevation data on file, you grant us a license to derive and cache elevation figures from it and show those derived figures to other athletes viewing the same race, as described in the Privacy Policy; you can remove your own contribution at any time from within the app.
Termination
You can stop using Cadence and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, including the Acceptable Use section above.
Deleting your account removes your account data per the Privacy Policy. It doesn't retroactively cancel an active Apple subscription; cancel that separately through your Apple ID account settings, as described under Subscriptions above.
Disclaimer of warranties
Cadence is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any prediction will match your actual race result.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Cadence, including any injury sustained during training or a race, or any decision made based on a prediction, race target, feasibility verdict, or planning guidance the app provides. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer law that cannot be excluded.
Governing law
Cadence is developed and operated by Cadence Sports Race Prediction Inc., a company based in British Columbia, Canada. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in British Columbia.
Changes to these terms
If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where practical, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Cadence after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
