Questions people actually ask
Straight answers, grounded in how the app actually works.
I entered my power and pace numbers myself. If I connect a watch or training platform later, will it overwrite them?
Not today: connections are not available yet, and nothing in Cadence changes a number you typed or corrected unless you change it. When we add one, our plan is that a number you corrected yourself always wins, and every field keeps showing where it came from. We will explain exactly how typed and connected numbers combine before it ships. To tell us which platform you want, open Settings, then Connections.
Does Cadence work for triathlon, swimming, or other sports?
Not yet. Cadence is built specifically for running and cycling races today: road, trail, and gravel included. Other sports aren't on the current roadmap.
Which countries' races does Cadence cover?
The race catalog today covers the US and Canada. We're not in other countries yet, though we do include a hand-picked set of curated races across Europe, the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
What happens if I cancel Season?
Turning off auto-renew keeps your full Season access through the end of the period you already paid for. You won't be charged again, but you're not cut off early either. Once that period ends (or if a refund/revocation happens), your account reverts to Free right away.
Is Free's accuracy worse than Season's?
No. The prediction model is the same on both plans: the same inputs give the same confidence tier, limiter, and predicted range. Season adds unlimited tracking, a focus and peak race, race-day targets, season planning with dated taper and recovery windows, and your track record. Your predicted range is the same on both. Accuracy is never a paid feature.
Why does Max HR show as "Measured" even when I typed it in myself?
Unlike a field like FTP, which can be estimated or computed from other numbers, your max heart rate isn't something you can reasonably guess. Whatever you enter came from a real effort you actually observed, whether that's a heart rate monitor reading or a race you remember clearly. So Cadence treats it as measured the moment it's on file, no matter the source, rather than starting it in a lower-trust tier the way it does for fields that really are just estimates until confirmed.
What do the labels on my Profile metrics mean?
Each metric on your Profile carries two separate pieces of information: a trust tier (how confident the app is in that number) and a source (where it actually came from).
Trust tier:
- Measured – a real recorded effort, not an estimate (your max heart rate, or an FTP backed by an actual power-curve reading).
- Self-reported – a number you typed in that isn't backed by that kind of underlying data yet. Still used for predictions, just with wider bands until confirmed.
- Corrected by you – you used "This looks wrong" to override what the app had on file.
- Verified – shown for race results once you've confirmed at least one real finish time.
- Missing – nothing on file yet for that field.
Source: "Entered by you" or "Synced earlier" (a figure that arrived through a connection older versions of Cadence offered). Literally where that number came from.
A small colored dot beside a measurement shows how recent it is, and turns amber as it ages, since the model trusts an old number a little less than a fresh one.
